Installation:
Using HotSync install
Card Dirs EN.prc (English
version) or
Card Dirs FR.prc (French translation) or
Card Dirs PL.prc
(Polish translation)
into your palm.
Card Directories will be accessible
from the Prefs applicatoin (on OS5 and higher under the Other category):
Usage:
Card Directories will not start if the expansion slot is
empty. After you have inserted an expansion card (mmc/sd or cf) into the slot
and launched Card Directories you should see the main form with a list of
registered extensions (file types), and directories associated with
them.
Some
extensions (.pdb, .prc) are registered at boot time by the OS. Others, like .wav or .txt, by
third-party applications (mp3 players, text editors, image viewers, etc.).
MemoryStick and SD cards register their own set of hardcoded, OS-independent associations. You will probably not be able to remove or modify those. MMC cards do not have this limitation.
To
add a new association :
1 - using the stylus tap the NEW button - a new form
will popup:
2 - choose the extension from the popup list (or
enter it manually)
3 - tap BROWSE to choose the directory you wish files of
that type to be put into
4 - if the directory does not exist you can create
it by tapping the NEW button in the directory browser window
5 - tap
DONE
6 - tap ADD - the
new association should be visible in the main list.
Now you can install any file,
even hallo.blah, into your palm's expansion card.
